PSF recruit waits for Iraqi trainer to inspect

As part of the "tribal awakening" currently taking place in Anbar Province, Iraq, tribal leaders, or sheiks, are contributing their tribesmen to be trained by Iraqi Security Forces to become part of a Provincial Security Force, or PSF. Here, one PSF recruit stands at attention in formation while an Iraqi "drill instructor" (background, blue shirt) inspects his troops. This class is the third iteration of the PSF training course, and will send its recruits back to the Habbaniyah region to work closely with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6.
