Great story and a testiment to the dedication of our Marines.
[this is good]
Wow,I never knew Evers recieved the Silver Star .Well I'm Impressed ,I had the the honor of transporting the troops on Habbaniyah and got to know Staff Sgt. Evers well enough to know the story behind his Citation it was intense just hearing him and his men talk about it.I'm sure he was embarrassed at the recognition knowing him as I did.The image that sticks in my mind is how impossibly tired he was at the end of the 7 month tour as was everybody but like he said he just did his job. Hoorah Staff Sgt. Evers I'm proud of you and your efforts.
Sounds like Sgt. Evers is a smart leader and tactiction. His bravery should be honored as many great marine gladiators in the past that have lost there lives defending this great nation. Like he said, he just did his job,a gret humble statement that shows when we need defending or liberating a country from horrible treatment of a people needing help you can always count on the marines, the first to go in, and the last to leave, one of the most devestating forces on the planet. Sgt. Evers showed all he cared was saving his troops from dieing,by using what he was taught from some of the greatest teachers and most feared force we will ever have. I salute you Sgt. Evers, you deserve it and more.
